What is happening?

THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF CALDERDALE

(TRAFFIC REGULATION) 

(A629 WESTERN CORRIDOR, HALIFAX) (NO. 1)
ORDER 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that on 15 September 2025 the Borough Council of Calderdale (“the Council”) in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) made the Borough Council of Calderdale (Traffic Regulation) (A629 Western Corridor, Halifax) (No.1) Order 2025, the effect of which will be to ban the left turn from the A629 Portland Place travelling southbound into Prescott Street.

Documents giving more detailed particulars of the order, including the statement of reasons and a plan showing the affected roads are available for inspection at Halifax Central Library, Halifax, HX1 1QG, from, from 10.00 am to 5.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays and 10.00 am to 4.00 pm on Saturdays. Alternatively copies of the documents can be viewed on the Council’s website at https://new.calderdale.gov.uk/streets-and-transport/transport-initiatives/tro/current-tro/ a629-phase-2-western-corridor or can be made available on request via email proposedtro@calderdale.gov.uk or telephone 01422 288001 or 288002.

The Order will come into effect on 19 September 2025. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the ground that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made (i.e. 15 September 2025) apply to the High Court for this purpose.
