Smiths Lane - Temporary Road Closure To Gas Disconnection Works

Temporary Closure of Smiths Lane
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Smiths Lane - from 126 metres west of the junction with Lintern Close, southwards for a total distance of 146 metres.
This Order will enable Wales and West Utilities to carry out gas disconnection works.
The Order becomes effective on 2nd October 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 7th October 2025 and last until 10th October 2025 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 4 days.
There is no alternative route for this closure. The works promoter will contact residents and businesses directly to discuss access arrangements.
