Verdant Lane Footpath, Near Eccles Definitive Footpath 28 - Temporary Footpath Closure For The Construction Of A New Footpath And Resurfacing

What is happening?

The Council of the City of Salford intends to make in no less than 7 days under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: SALFORD CITY COUNCIL (VERDANT LANE FOOTPATH, NEAR ECCLES DEFINITIVE FOOTPATH 28) TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE ORDER 2025.

The Order will introduce a footpath closure on Verdant Lane Footpath for its full length, heading to and from Eccles Definitive Footpath 28. The Order is necessary for the construction of a new footpath and resurfacing of the existing footpath. The order is due to come into operation on Monday 20th October 2025 and will last for a period of 6 months or until the works are completed if earlier. 

The works are expected to be completed by Sunday 16th November 2025. The diversion route is via Verdant Lane - A57 Liverpool Road - Eccles Definitive Footpath 28, vice versa. A copy of the proposed Order and plans of the area may be requested by contacting Salford City Council Street Works team via the email street.works@salford.gov.uk or the postal address below:
