What is happening?

SURLINGHAM – C195 Bramerton Road from 230m south of its junction with U78112 Cross Lane for 115m southwards to facilitate gateway scheme works from 15th to 16th September 2025 (may continue until 28th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Bramerton Road, Walnut Hill, School Lane, Mill Road, Surlingham Lane, The Street, Rookery Hill, Bramerton Lane, Rockland Road, Surlingham Road (Surlingham, Rockland St. Mary, Bramerton). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

SWAFFHAM – South Pickenham Road from 150m southeast of its junction with Dulgate Road for 150m south-eastwards to facilitate pole testing works between 09:30 and 13:00 on 15th September 2025 (may continue until 27th October 2025). Alternative route is via: A1065 Brandon Road, B1108 Watton Road/Brandon Road (Hilborough, Ickburgh, Swaffham, Great Cressingham, Watton, Little Cressingham, Cockley Cley, Saham Toney). The works promoter is BT.

WHINBURGH AND WESTFIELD – U35022 Dereham Road from 382m south of its junction with U35290 Westfield Lane for 25m southwards to facilitate culvert headwall and fencing repair works from 15th to 16th September 2025 (may continue until 28th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Dereham Road, Shipdham Road, Station Road, B1135 Dereham Road/Yaxham Road, Westfield Lane, Westfield Road (Whinburgh and Westfield, Dereham, Yaxham). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

CASTLE RISING – 1) A149 Queen Elizabeth Way from 100m south of its junction with A149 roundabout to 100m north of its junction with the A149 roundabout and 2) A148 Grimston Road from its junction with A149 roundabout for 480m westwards and 3) Hillington Road from its junction with A149 roundabout for 100m eastwards to facilitate repair & maintenance of the highway & bus lane improvements. The Roads 1–3 will be temporarily subject to a 30mph speed restriction from 13th September to 23rd December 2025 (previously 8th to 12th September 2025) (may continue until 12th March 2027). Alternative route is via: N/A. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

DOCKING – Chequers Street from 65m east of its junction with C93 Ringstead Road for 50m eastwards to facilitate retaining wall and footway repair works between 07:30 and 16:30 from 15th September to 17th October 2025 (may continue until 17th April 2026). Alternative route is via: Chequers Street, Bradmere Lane, Docking Road, Stanhoe Road, Sedgeford Road, Fakenham Road, High Street (Docking, Burnham Market, Bircham, Bagthorpe with Barmer). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

DOWNHAM MARKET – Lancaster Crescent from 50m into its junction with Snape Lane for 40m north-eastwards to facilitate sewer works between 09:00 and 17:00 on 16th to 17th September 2025 (may continue until 18th September 2025). Alternative route is via: Lancaster Crescent, Glebe Road. The works promoter is Anglian Water.

GRIMSTON – C72 Lynn Road from 60m southeast of its junction with C72 Low Road for 40m south-eastwards to facilitate new water connection works from 15th to 17th September 2025 (may continue until 29th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Lynn Road, Congham Road, Low Road (Congham, Grimston). The works promoter is Anglian Water.

NORTHWOLD – Mundford Road from its junction with A134 for 200m westwards to facilitate tree trimming works on 18th September 2025 (may continue until 29th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Mundford Road, Stoke Road, Northwold Road, Methwold Road, Thetford Road, Cranwich Road. The works promoter is GNF Forestry.

METHWOLD – Brandon Road from its junction with Methwold Road for 200m westwards to facilitate tree trimming works on 18th September 2025 (may continue until 30th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Mundford Road, Thetford Road, Cranwich Road, Lynn Road, Methwold Road (Methwold, Northwold, Mundford, Cranwich). The works promoter is GNF Forestry.

SOUTHERY – U21504 Sedge Fen Road from 2375m southeast of its junction with A10 Ferry Bank for 400m south-eastwards to facilitate carriageway repairs, drainage works and reinstatement of access points from 15th to 19th September 2025 (may continue until 31st October 2025). Alternative route is via: Sedge Fen Road, Long Drove, Black Drove, Feltwell Road, Upgate Street, Westgate Street, Ferry Bank (Methwold, Southery, Feltwell). The works promoter is Anglian Water.

TILNEY ST. LAWRENCE – Church Road from its junction with St Johns Road for 380m northwards to facilitate HRA patching works from 15th to 17th September 2025 (may continue until 29th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Church Road, New Road, St Johns Road. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

WIGGENHALL ST. GERMANS – Lynn Road from its junction with Fallow Pipe Road South to its junction with Mill Road to facilitate mains replacement works from 15th September to 6th October 2025 (may continue until 26th April 2026). Alternative route is via: High Road, Lynn Road, School Road, Sluice Road, The Avenue, Islington Road, A47, Saddlebow Road, High Road Roundabout (Tilney All Saints, Wiggenhall St. Germans, Tilney St. Lawrence). The works promoter is Anglian Water.

WIGGENHALL ST. MARY MAGDALEN – C8 Stow Road from 300m south of its junction with C52 Church Road for 60m southwards to facilitate road installation works from 15th to 27th September 2025 (may continue until 8th November 2025). Alternative route is via: Stow Road, Low Road, Mill Road, West Road, The Street, Home Road, Downham Road, Watlington Road, Stowbridge Road, Church Road (Watlington, Stow Bardolph, Wiggenhall St. Mary Magdalen, Runcton Holme). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by vehicles of the named road(s)/footpath(s).

In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT).

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
