Christopher Way - Temporary Road Closure To Micro Resurfacing Works

What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Christopher Way

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Christopher Way - from the junction with Queens Road to the junction with Mason Way. A total distance of 136 metres.

This Order will enable Kiely Bros to carry out micro resurfacing works on behalf of Somerset Highways.

The Order becomes effective on 2nd October 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 10th October 2025 and last until 14th October 2025 between the hours of 07:00 - 19:00 for a total of 5 days.

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
