What is happening?

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER
2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wolverhampton City Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as substituted by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, prohibiting vehicles from proceeding on the following roads:

· Codsall Road closed in both directions from its junction with Pendeford Avenue to outside property Brookside Farm. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for two days between 28th September 2025 and 30th September 2025, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00. Vehicular Diversion Route: Lower Street, Tettenhall Road, Chapel Ash, Ring Road, Stafford Street, Stafford Road, Wobaston Road, Pendeford Mill Lane, Duck Lane, Birches Road and vice versa.

· Blackhalve Lane closed in both directions from its junction with Cannock Road to outside Brookside Farm. It is anticipated that the closure will operate on 28th September 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 15:30, and for one day between 29th September 2025 and 1st October 2025, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30. Vehicular Diversion Route: Cannock Road, Bushbury Road, Church Street, Wolverhampton Road, Rookery Street, High Street, Alfred Squire Road, March End Road, Lakefield Road, Lichfield Road, Essington Road, Bursnips Road, Hobnock Road, Brownshore Lane, Wolverhampton Road (B4156) and vice versa.

· East Croft closed its entire length in both directions.

· Enville Road closed its entire length in both directions. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between 30th September 2025 and 2nd October 2025, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30. Vehicular Diversion Route: Hilston Avenue, Warstones Road, Warstones Drive and vice versa.

· Fairview Road closed its entire length in both directions. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between 1st October 2025 and 3rd October 2025, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30. Vehicular Diversion Route: Hilston Avenue and vice versa.

· Springhill Lane closed in both directions between its junctions with Warstones Road and Wynne Crescent. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between 2nd October 2025 and 4th October 2025, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30. Vehicular Diversion Route: Warstones Road, Showell Lane, Orton Lane, Dene Road and vice versa.

· Nethy Drive closed its entire length in both directions.

· Birchfield Avenue closed its entire length in both directions. Access/egress to frontages maintained. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between 3rd October 2025 and 7th October 2025, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.

· Cockshutts Lane closed its entire length in both directions. Access/egress to frontages maintained. It is anticipated that the closure will operate for one day between 4th October 2025 and 6th October 2025, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.

· Downing Close closed its entire length in both directions. Access/egress to frontages maintained. It is anticipated that the closure will operate from 4th October 2025 until 6th October 2025, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30.

The Order may operate for a maximum period of eighteen months, but it is anticipated that the works will be undertaken between the dates detailed above, between the times stipulated.

The Order is required to facilitate carriageway surface treatment works.
