PERMITTED DEVELOPMENT RIGHTS

As per Section 16(2) of the Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005, the Scottish Government is now consulting on documents relating to Permitted development rights to support the provision of new homes.

The consultation paper can be viewed at: https://consult.gov.scot/planning-architecture/potential-development-rights-new-homes-provision/

The Environmental Report can be viewed at: www.gov.scot/isbn/9781806431090

Opinions on the consultation paper and the Environmental Report are now invited and can be submitted at the consultation links above, by email to HousingEmergencyPDR@gov.scot or in writing to Development Management team, Planning, Architecture and Regeneration Directorate, Area 2F South Victoria Quay, Edinburgh EH6 6QQ by 27 October 2025.

The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (Scotland) Amendment Order 2024 came into force on 24th May 2024. As per Section 18(1) of the Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005, the Scottish Government has now published the Strategic Environmental Assessment Post Adoption Statement which can be viewed at: www.gov.scot/isbn/9781800041349
