What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (RAKE LANE, ULVERSTON, AND PARADE STREET, BARROW IN FURNESS) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of;

(i) Rake Lane, Ulverston, from its junction with the Beechlands, extending in a north easterly direction for a distance of approx. 55m.

Alternative Route: via Park Road, Victoria Road, A590 County Road, Princes Street, Springfield Road the unrestricted section of Rake Lane.

Duration: From 29th September 2025 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROW/15767)

(ii) Parade Street, Barrow in Furness, from its junction with Duke Street, extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 30m.

Alternative Route: via Duke Street, Cornwallis Street, St Vincent Street and Clifford Street.

Duration: From 6th October 2025 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROW/15768)

The Order will come into operation on 29th September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
