Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 12 September 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Tilford Road (C28) Churt Farnham as extends from its junction with Hale House Lane (D127) to its junction with Green Lane (D131).

Alternative Route – Tilford Road, Jumps Road, A287 (Churt Road), Beacon Hill Road and Tilford Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable Openreach to facilitate pole testing and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 28 September 2025 for 1 day, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

D125 Star Hill, Churt Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D125 Star Hill, Churt that extends from its junction with Star Hill Drive, for a distance of 50m in both directions. This Traffic Order is required to enable I&G Contractors Limited/Southern Gas Networks to carry out gas mains connection and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 7am and 6pm, within 1 month of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 23 October 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency services, residents and businesses will be maintained at all times via the alternative route: - Star Hill, A287 Churt Road, Lampard Lane and Star Hill.

Killinghurst Lane (D158) Chiddingfold
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 17 September 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Killinghurst Lane (D158) Chiddingfold from its junction with the access to the property known as “Ramster” to its junction with the access to the property known as “June Hill”. Alternative Route: Killinghurst Lane, (B2131) Petworth Road, (B2131) Rodgate Lane, (A283) Petworth Road, (AKA) Cripplecrutch Hill, and Killinghurst Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate new electrical connection works for, or on behalf of SSEN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 29 September 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Notice of Confirmation of Modification Order Section 53 of The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 Surrey County Council Rights of Way Definitive Map and Statement Public Bridleways 99 [part], 99a and 101 [part] (Thursley) Definitive Map Modification Order 2021

On 19 August 2025 the Secretary of State for the Environment confirmed the above named Order. The Order as confirmed modifies the Definitive Statement for the following public rights of way by the addition of the width of 9.1 metres (30 feet):-

That part of public bridleway no. 99 (Thursley) shown by a bold broken line with cross bars in the intervals on Drawing no. 3/1/14/H54 commencing at point ‘B’ (Grid ref: 489145 139664) its junction with bridleway no. 99A (Farnham) and proceeding in a generally northerly direction to join bridleway no. 101 (Thursley) at point ‘C’ (Grid ref. 489332 140878). The total distance is 1278 metres.

Public bridleway no. 99A (Thursley) shown by a broken line with cross bars in the intervals on Drawing no. 3/1/14/H54 commencing at point ‘A’ (Grid ref. 489296 139751) on Pitch Place and proceeding in a south-westerly direction to its junction with bridleway no. 99 (Thursley) at point ‘B’ (Grid ref: 489145 139664). The total distance is 150 metres.

That part of public bridleway no.101 (Thursley) shown by a broken line with cross bars in the intervals on Drawing no. 3/1/14/H55 commencing at point ‘D’ (Grid ref. 489641 140689) on Thursley Road and proceeding in a generally north-westerly direction past point ‘E’ (Grid ref. 489333 140881) to point ‘F’ (Grid ref. 488717 141333) at the Parish Boundary with Elstead. The total distance is 1236 metres.

The total distance modified is 2764 metres, with a width of 9.1 metres (30’0”) throughout.

The notice may be viewed at www.surreycc.gov.uk. Copies of the order and map may be bought from the County Council for £4.

The Definitive Map Modification Order came into force on 19 August 2025. If a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may under paragraph 12 of Schedule 15 of the Act within six weeks of 18 September 2025 make an application to the High Court.
