Merton - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Maintenance and Utility Works

What is happening?

4. The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5. Nothing in the Order would apply to:–

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform, a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions.

6. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

7. The Order would come into operation on Monday 6th October 2025 and it is anticipated that the works would be completed on 9th October 2025. However, the Order would remain in force for 12 months should further works be required.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(RUTLISH ROAD AND KINGSTON ROAD, SW19)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) (NO. 2)

ORDER 2025

1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice, that to facilitate new water connection works in Rutlish Road at its junction with Kingston Road, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said roads.

2. During the works, no person would cause or permit any vehicle to:–

(a) enter or proceed in Rutlish Road, from the south-eastern kerb-line of Kingston Road south-eastward for a distance of 42 metres;

(b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in:–

(i) the road or length of road specified in sub-paragraph (a) above;

(ii) Kingston Road, both sides, from the common boundary of Nos. 171 and 173 Kingston Road to the common boundary of Nos. 189 and 191 Kingston Road.

3. Any designated parking place situated in the roads or lengths of road specified in paragraph 2 above would be suspended for the duration of the works.

4. The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed via Charles Road, Kirkley Road and Kingston Road or vice-versa.

6. Nothing in the Order would apply: –

(a) to any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or

(d) so as to prevent vehicular access to premises adjacent to the road or length of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a).

7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

8. The Order would come into operation on Tuesday 23rd September 2025 and it is anticipated that the works would be completed within 3 days. However, the Order would remain in force for 3 months should further works be required.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

STANLEY ROAD, SW19

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) (NO. 2) ORDER 2025

1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate re-cladding works at No. 10 Stanley Road, SW19, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.

2. During the works, no person will cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in Stanley Road, the west side, from a point 36 metres north of its junction with The Broadway northward for a distance of 18 metres.

3. Any designated parking place situated in the length of road specified in paragraph 2 above will be suspended for the duration of the works.

4. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5. Nothing in the Order will apply to: –

(a) any vehicle being used in the execution of the said works or for the loading or unloading of construction delivery vehicles; or

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions.

6. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

7. The Order will come into operation on Friday 14th September 2025 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 14th February 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 6 months and its provisions will be re-introduced during that time should the works be required.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(VARIOUS ROADS) (NO. 7)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

1. The London Borough of Merton Council hereby give notice that to facilitate a programme of carriageway resurfacing and general maintenance works to be undertaken in the roads specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which, during the works, would be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from entering, proceeding or waiting, including for the purpose of loading or unloading vehicles, at certain times and in the roads or lengths of roads outlined in column 1 of the Schedule to this Order.

2. Any designated parking place situated in any of the roads or lengths of roads specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice would be suspended for the duration of the works in those roads or lengths of road.

3. Alternative routes for diverted traffic would be indicated by advance warning and diversion signs on the roads affected when the works are in progress.

4. Any vehicle that is in contravention of any waiting restrictions imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

5. Nothing in the Order would apply to: –

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or

(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited roads or lengths of roads insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

6. The Order would come into force on Monday 22nd September 2025 and the anticipated work dates are specified in column 2 of the Schedule to this notice. However, the Order would remain in operation for a maximum period of 12 months and during which its provisions would be re-introduced should further works be required.
