ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14 (1)

Temporary Closure,

Section of The Thames Towpath, Teddington

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate Environment Agency works taking place at Teddington Lock, they have made a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary closures of the Thames Towpath between the base of Teddington Lock Footbridge and the river end of The Lock access road, adjacent to the east corner of Teddington Lock.

  2. Whilst the works take Place the closure will be in place from the base of Teddington Lock Footbridge to the river end of Lock Access Road.

  3. The order will come into effect on 15 September 2025 and stay in force for 6 months, the closures will be in place on Mondays to Fridays only and likely to apply for four hours at any one time.

  4. An alternative route for pedestrians affected by the closure will be available via a signed diversion around the closed area.

  5. The prohibitions apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.

  6. Nothing in the Order applies to:

    (a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works or any public service or utility vehicle;

    (b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement officer; or

    (c) any vehicle being used for Police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes.

  7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF RICHMOND UPON THAMES

(SPECIAL EVENTS) (VARIOUS STREET PARTIES) (NO. 9) ORDER 2025

(Reference 25/159)

  1. The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames on the 09 September 2025 made the above Order under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

  2. The general effect of this Order is to facilitate the holding of a street party in various streets to allow residents to celebrate a special event within their communities.

  3. The street which will be closed is listed in the Schedule to this notice. Full details of the lengths of street which will be closed and times when the closures will be in force will be contained in the order referred to in the next paragraph.

  4. Copies of the Order:

    (a) can be inspected until 31 December 2025, quoting Reference 25/159 at the Civic Centre (Central Reception, ground floor), 44 York Street, Twickenham between 9.15am and 5pm on Mondays to Fridays, except for Bank and other public holidays; and

    (b) may be viewed on the Council’s web-site at http://www.richmond.gov.uk/public_notices

  5. Nothing in the Order applies to:
