Fylde Road, Heaton Mersey - Temporary Prohibition of Driving
What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (FYLDE ROAD, HEATON MERSEY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2025.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which introduced a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Fylde Road, Heaton Mersey between the junctions of Mauldeth Road, and Carlton Road, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road.
This Order is necessary to allow for gas mains replacement works to take place. It is estimated these works will last 14 days. A diversion will be provided via Carlton Road, Heyscroft Road, Brompton Road, Thornhill Road, Mauldeth Road and vice versa. This Notice does not apply to any vehicle on any occasion when it is being used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes.
This Notice does not apply to pedestrians or pedal cycles. This Notice does not prevent local access.
This Order will come into operation on 29 September 2025 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
