Order 2025
The Council proposes to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following length of road. A1018 Ryhope Spur northbound dual carriageway from its junction with A19 at Seaton to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken. An alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic from A19, north westerly to and around A690 Doxford Interchange Roundabout and returning south eastbound to the new Seaton Village roundabout and junction with A1018. The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence at 8pm on Monday 29/9/2025 and are anticipated to be completed in 2 nights, until 6am each following morning. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
