Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 10 September 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of C197 Church Road, Epsom that extends from its junction with D2451 Wimborne Close, southward for 30m. This Traffic Order is required to enable BT Openreach to carry out excavations for a new telegraph pole and/or telegraph pole replacement and/or to carry out overhead cabling and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm within 1 day of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 16 September 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. No sole access will be affected however access for emergency services, residents, businesses and equestrians will be maintained at all times via the alternative route: - Church Road, Pitt Road, B284 Church Street and Grove Road.
