(Uttlesford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places)
(Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.31) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given Colchester City Council acting on behalf of the North Essex Parking Partnership in exercise of the delegated powers of the traffic authority Essex County Council granted under an Agreement dated 1st July 2022 has made the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(1), 4(2), 32, 35, 45, 46, 49 and 53 and Parts III and IV of schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
The effect of the Order:
1. To introduce No Waiting at Any Time restrictions at the junction of Thaxted road, Rylstone Way and Burnsall Close, Saffron Walden.
2. To introduce restrictions along Walson Way, Halstead between Reeve Road and Church Road. No waiting at Any Time restrictions at the junctions with Herington Avenue, Palmer Close, Hampton Road and access roads near to 46 and 58 Walson Road. No Waiting at Any Time on the North side between Herington Ave. and Hampton Road. On both sides at the bend near to Reeve road. On the East side of the road from Palmers Close to Church Road.
3. To introduce No Waiting 6am – 7pm on the south side of Walson Way from number 74 to 92 Walson Way.
This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Uttlesford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 by replacing the tile numbers TL545 377, TL510 240, TL515 240 revision 0 replaced by revision 1.
Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 27th October 2025.

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.
(Footpath 13, Elsenham) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the above Order made by Essex County Council, under S14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) has been continued in force with the consent of the Secretary of State for the Department of Transport until 01 April 2026.
Effect of the Order:
To temporarily close Footpath 13, Elsenham, in the District of Uttlesford from its junction with Hall Road, southwest for approximately 280 metres to its junction with Footpath 17.The closure came into effect on the 02 October 2024 and is required for the safety of the public and work force while Vistry Homes new development is built, the footpath runs through the centre of the site.
The alternative route is via Hall Road, and Footpath 17, and vice versa.
This Order may be further extended by the Secretary of State if a further extension is required.
(Various Roads (Home Pasture) Saffron Walden) (20mph Zone) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under sections 84(1)(a) and (2), and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)
Effect of the order:
To implement a ‘20mph Zone’Road | Description |
Home Pasture, Saffron Walden | From a point approximately 8 metres east of its junction with the B1052 Little Walden Road, for the rest of its remaining lengths, including turning heads and private drives. |

(Brick Kiln Lane, Rickling Green)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Brick Kiln Lane, Rickling Green in the District of Uttlesford, from its southern most junction of Rickling Green Road for a distance of approximately 140m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th October 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30096546379 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree cutting works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via B1383, Bentfield Road, Bentfield End Causeway, Bentfield Green, Bentfield Bury Road, Common Mead Bridge, Carters Hill, The Street, Clavering Road, Maunend Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 18th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Hadstock Road, Little Walden)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hadstock Road, Little Walden in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 50m south east of its junction with Petlands for a distance of approximately 220m in a south easterly then north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th October 2025 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX06163685JB – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via B1052, B184, B1052, B1054, B1057, A1017, B1052 and vice versa (following the one way on B184).
The Order will come into effect on 18th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Littlebury Green Road, Elmdon)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Littlebury Green Road, Elmdon in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 270m north east of its junction with Royston Road for a distance of approximately 470m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th October 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WG2RLV7K – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via B1039, B1383, Chestnut Avenue and vice versa (with access only into Littlebury Green Road).
The Order will come into effect on 18th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Valance Road, Clavering)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Valance Road, Clavering in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 1550m north west of its junction with Langley Road for a distance of approximately 90m in a westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th October 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WG3NT86W – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Park Lane, Langley Lower Green, Langley Road and vice versa (with access only into Valance Road, Upper Green Road and Bull Lane).
The Order will come into effect on 18th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Crabtree Hill, Widdington & North Hall Road, Quendon/Ugley)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Crabtree Hill, Widdington in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with North Hall Road for a distance of approximately 230m in a north easterly direction.
2. To temporarily close that length of North Hall Road, Quendon/Ugley in the District of Uttlesford, from the junction of London Road for a distance of approximately 385m in a south easterly then southerly direction.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 22nd September 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2388865 & EP201EH2391701 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
Alternative routes are available via:
1. B1383, Widdington Road, Spring Hill, High Street and vice versa.
2. B1383, Widdington Road, Debden Road, Newport Road, Ivy Rod Mill Hill, Rookery Lane, Debden Road, Mill Road, Chickney Road, High Street, Church End, North Hall Road, Old Mead Road, North Hall Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 4th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Duck Street, Wendens Ambo)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Duck Street, Wendens Ambo in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 20m south east of its junction with Royston Road for a distance of approximately 410m in a south easterly then south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 26th September 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30021528203 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree cutting works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Duck Street, B1039, B1383, Rookery Lane, Duck Street and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 4th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Fullers Lane, Elsenham in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 320 south east of its junction with Hall Road for a distance of approximately 115m in a south easterly direction or where stated on a valid permit (BC411SA003WFNRWGJ – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while ducting works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Tye Green Road, Claypit Hill, Belmer Road, Burton End Road, Church Road, B1351, B1383, Pound, Bedwell Road, New Road, Station Road, B1051, Hall Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 4th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Littlebury Green Road, Littlebury in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 265m south east of its junction with Chapel Green Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 24th September 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30006707609 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new overhead connection works are being undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via B1039, B1383, Chestnut Avenue and vice versa.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Radwinter Road, Ashdon in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 500m north west of its junction with New House Lane for a distance of approximately 150m north westerly then north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 25th September 2025 for 9 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP20149174126 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while culvert strengthening and repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Radwinter Road, Ashdon Road, B1053, Elizabeth Way, Ashdon Road, Walden Road, Church Hill, Radwinter Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 4th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) (Streetworks No.4) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Uttlesford as detailed in the Schedule.
The works are scheduled to commence after 4th September 2025, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on One.Network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed in advance by means of either a letter/leaflet drop and advance warning signs on the road.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce micro-ducting works being undertaken by Gigaclear.
The Order came into effect on 4th September 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
