Imposing All The Existing On-Street Parking Controls Within The Guildford Town Centre Controlled Parking Zone (“CPZ”)
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT ON THURSDAY 11 SEPTEMBER 2025 SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL MADE The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in the Borough of Guildford) (Guildford Town Centre Controlled Parking Zone) (Consolidation of Waiting and Loading Restrictions and Street Parking Places and Revocation) Order 2025 under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 49, 51 and 53 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the 1984 Act”), and of all other enabling powers, the purpose and effect of which is to consolidate without change in substance the Orders specified in Part I of The Schedule to this Notice and the Orders referred to in Part II of The Schedule to this Notice.
2. A copy of the Order referred to in paragraph 1 above, which will come into operation on Monday 15 September 2025, together with plans showing the roads and lengths of roads to which that Order relates and the various Catchment Areas within the Guildford Town Centre CPZ and of each of the Orders listed in Part I of the Schedule of this Notice may be inspected, free of charge, for a period of six weeks from Friday 12 September 2025 at -
(a) at the Main Reception, Guildford Borough Council, Millmead House, Millmead, Guildford, Surrey, GU2 4BB during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive; or
(b) by prior arrangement by telephoning or emailing the County Council’s Merrow Complex situated at Merrow Lane, Merrow, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ (Telephone No. 0300 200 1003) or Email: highways@surreycc.gov.uk) between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Mondays to Thursdays inclusive and 9 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Fridays; or
(c) Guildford Library, 77 North Street, Guildford on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m., on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9.30 a.m. and 7 p.m. and on Saturdays between 9.30 a.m. and 5 p.m.; or
(d) by prior arrangement and appointment only at Guildford Borough Council’s Parking Office situated at Bedford Road Multi-storey Car Park (Level 2), Laundry Road, Guildford, Surrey, GU1 4PX (Telephone No. (01483) 505050 or Email: Parking@guildford.gov.uk) during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive.
(NOTE – The Orders listed in Part I of the Schedule to this Notice and all the accompanying plans can only be inspected by following the arrangements described in sub-paragraph (b) above).
3. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act or on the grounds that any requirement of the 1984 Act or of any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order you may, within six weeks from Thursday 11 September 2025, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
