(FLINTHAM BYWAY OPEN TO ALL TRAFFIC No 9) (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025 (8418)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council proposes to make an Order under section 9 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effects of which will be in respect of the byway at Flintham in the Borough of Rushcliffe:

The following Byway Open to All Traffic (BOAT) is to be closed to horse drawn vehicles and all motorised traffic (except solo Motorcycles) between 1st November and 30th April.

Any objections should clearly state the reasons for the objections and should reach us in writing, either by letter or email, by 10th October 2025. If the objection cannot be resolved, it will be reported through the County Council’s procedures at the appropriate time.

The closure is being introduced during the winter months when the weather makes the surface of the byway wet and muddy. The new restrictions will prevent the use of the byway by horse drawn vehicles and all motorised vehicles (except solo Motorcycles). Closing the byway during the winter months will reduce the damage to the surface of the byway making it safer for all other users. The byway has been identified as being damaged by the overuse of motor vehicles.
