TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025 (TMP2001)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN Leicester City Council (“the Council”) proposes to make two Orders under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 5, and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby propose to makes the following Orders: -
The effects of the proposed Orders, will be:
Parking proposals TMP1003
• Introduce additional No waiting prohibitions on all days at all times on parts of Disraeli Street and Canal Street
• introduce additional No waiting restrictions operating 8am - 6.30pm Monday to Saturday on parts of Disraeli Street
• To revoke certain existing prohibitions and restrictions Moving proposals TMP2001
• Amend the existing one-way traffic restriction on Granby Road to include an exemption for pedal cycles.
• To extend the existing One-way on Disraeli Street so it runs from Granby Rd to Canal St with an exemption for pedal cycles.
• To revoke certain existing prohibitions and restrictions.
A COPY of the proposed Order, the relevant plan, the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order and extract copies of the Order being amended may be seen at Leicester City Council’s website: leicester.gov. uk/trafficregulationorders.
OBJECTIONS to the proposed Orders must be made in writing and specify the grounds on which they are made to Traffic Orders Team, Leicester City Council, City Hall, Charles Street, Leicester LE1 1FZ or email TROteam@ leicester.gov.uk and mark for the attention of Chris Middleton. Any objections stating grounds on which they are made and quoting ref. ‘TMP1003- Parking or TMP2001- Moving’, & must be received by 4th October 2025.
The proposals are intended to manage parking associated with existing and new residential properties to help maintain the free flow of traffic. Updating the one-way system and providing an exemption for pedal cycles for permeability using these roads. The formal reason for these proposals is for preserving or improving the amenity of the area through which the roads run.
