Lydall Road - Introduce No Waiting Prohibitions

What is happening?

LEICESTER CITY COUNCIL (LYDALL ROAD, LEICESTER) (NO WAITING PROHIBITIONS) (PARKING CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2025 AMENDMENT NO.001) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025 (TMP1002)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN Leicester City Council (“the Council”) has made an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 5, and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby propose to makes the following Order: -

The Order shall come into effect on the 15 day of September 2025

The effect of the Order is to: 
• Introduce no waiting prohibitions on all days at all times on parts of Allenwood Road, Lydall Road, Pasley Road, Saffron Lane, Stockland Road & Tamerton Road.
• To modify Article 10 of the Principal Order to include the text “or Entrance Clearway”. 
• To revoke certain existing Prohibitions and Restriction.

A COPY of the Order, the relevant plan, the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order and extract copies of the Order being amended may be seen via the Leicester City Council website: www.leicester.gov.uk/ trafficregulationorders or during normal opening hours at Leicester City Council, Customer Service Centre, 91 Granby Street, Leicester, LE1 6FB.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order (which was made on 10th September 2025) or of any provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order you may, within six weeks from 10th September 2025.

The parking prohibitions are intended to prevent vehicles from parking on the footways at the junctions on Lydall Road. This will provide clear views for motorists when manoeuvring their vehicles at the junctions and enable pedestrians to better use the footways. The formal reason for these proposals is for avoiding danger and preserving or improving the amenity of the area through which the roads run. The amendment to article 10 of the Principal Order is to clarify that the No stopping prohibition applies to a Clearway and an Entrance Clearway.
