What is happening?

(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council intend in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding along the lengths of roads set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the roads are closed.

The Order is necessary to enable Openreach to carry out civil engineering works in the roads.

The Order will come into force on the 20th October 2025 and shall continue in force for a maximum duration of 18 months, or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner.

It is envisaged that the works will take 2 days to complete.

SCHEDULE
Penycae Road will be closed from outside property number 121 Penycae Road in a northerly direction for a distance of 150m along its length.

Lane from Penycae Road to Pen Y Lan Cottage will be closed from the junction of Broomhill in a northly direction for a distance of 100m along its length There is no suitable alternative route for vehicular traffic.

Access for pedestrian and emergency vehicles will be maintained.
