What is happening?
BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD (PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY CLOSURES - FE/23/1, FE/23/2 & FE/24/1, LEAM LANE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of Gateshead proposes to make an Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians from the Public Rights of Way as set out in the Schedule below and temporarily suspend a prohibition of motorized vehicles.
The Order is required to allow for works being carried out by Northumbrian Water Ltd to install new services in the area. It is proposed that the Order will come into force on the 29 September 2025. The maximum duration of the Order will be 6 months.
All pedestrians traffic will be prohibited from the public rights of way as set out below until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the prohibition, there will be signed alternative route in place.
