Birks Road, Temporary Traffic Restrictions Due To Event

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (U5251 BIRKS ROAD, WINDERMERE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because of the likelihood of danger to the public and to ensure safe access / egress for those taking part in the Girl Guiding North West Event, Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of Birks Road, Windermere from its junction with Ghyll Head Road, extending predominantly in a south westerly direction for an approx. distance of 1.2km.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of Birks Road, A592 and Ghyll Head Road.

The Order will come into operation on 04 October 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 2 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
