South Lakeland, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Highway Works
What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, SOUTH LAKELAND LOCALITY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) (NO.15) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists) from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.
Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force.

The Order will come into operation on 29th September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the works will only be required for 1 month and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Alternative Route: via the U5451 Carr Bank Road, C5079 and the unrestricted section of the U5452 Storth Road.

From its junction with its junction with the C5097, extending in a north easterly then south easterly direction for a distance of approx. 1km.
Alternative Route: via the C5097 and the U5452 Storth Road.
C5060 Bowland Bridge – Start Date 20th October 2025

From its junction with its junction with the C5048, extending in a north westerly direction for a distance of approx. 20m.
Alternative Route: via the C5048, A5074 and the unrestricted section of the C5060.
B5277 Lindale Road, Lindale – Start Date 1st October 2025

From its junction with its junction Meathop Road, extending in a north westerly direction for a distance of approx. 2.1km.
Alternative Route: via the A590, B5278 and the unrestricted section of the B5277.
C5008 Kirkby Cross Bank, Dunnerdale – Start Date 13th October 2025

From a point adjacent to a property known as Far Kiln Bank, extending in a north westerly direction for a distance of approx. 95m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C5008, C5097, A595 Broughton in Furness.
A590 Storrs – Start Date 9th October 2025
