Cowgill, Temporary Road Closure Due To Bridge Inspection Works

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (C5101, COWGILL) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable bridge examination inspection works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the C5101, Cowgill, from a point approx. 1.7 km south east of its junction with the U5512, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 115 metres.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the C5101, B6255, A684 and Coal Road (U5509).

The Order will come into operation on 29th September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 night between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
