Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,  makes or intends to make the following Orders.

MAIDSTONE AREA

A249 Detling Hill (Southbound), Detling (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow drainage repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A249 Detling Hill Southbound, Detling, on or after 27th September 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

A249 Detling Hill southbound carriageway will be closed from the junction with Scragged Oak Road to the junction with Jades Crossing. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

B2163 Teston Lane, Teston ME18 5BX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow vegetation clearance and bridge inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2163 Teston Lane, Teston, on or after 7th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Teston Bridge, between the hours of 00:01 to 05:00, and 09:30 to 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via B2163 Teston Lane, B2010 Lower Road, B2010 Dean Street, B2010 Farleigh Hill, B2010 Tovil Hill, B2010 Tovil Road, B2010 College Road, A229 College Road, A229 Mill Street, A229 Bishops Way, A229 The Broadway, A20 Tonbridge Road, A26 Tonbridge Road and B2163 Teston Lane.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via B2163 Teston Lane, A26 Tonbridge Road, A20 Terrace Road, A20 London Road, A20 The Broadway, A229 The Broadway, A229 St Peters Bridge, A229 Fairmeadow, A229 Bishops Way, A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street, A229 Upper Stone Street, A229 Sheals Crescent, A229 Hayle Road, B2010 College Road, B2010 Tovil Road, B2010 Tovil Hill, B2010 Farleigh Hill, B2010 Dean Street, B2010 Lower Road and B2163 Teston Lane.

 

B2010 High Street, Yalding ME18 6HS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow vegetation clearance and bridge inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2010 High Street, Yalding, on or after 8th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Yalding Bridge, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2010 High Street, B2162 Benover Road, B2162 Hampstead Lane, B2015 Maidstone Road, B2015 Bow Road, A26 Tonbridge Road, B2163 Teston Lane, B2010 Lower Road, B2010 Smiths Hill, B2010 Yalding Hill, B2010 High Street and vice versa.

 

Bimbury Lane, Stockbury, ME9 7QX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bimbury Lane, Stockbury, on or after 22nd September 2025 for up to 15 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Yelsted Road to property number 1. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Bimbury Lane, Yelsted Road, Lower Hartlip Road, A2 Hartlip Hill, A2 London Road, A2 High Street, A2 Keycol Hill, Key Street Roundabout, A249 Key Street Slip Southbound on, A249 From J A2 to M2 off slip S, A249 from M2 J5 off slip to end of Stockbury slip on S, A249 Sittingbourne Road, Aerodrome Approach (Service Road), Bimbury Lane.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Bimbury Lane, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 from J M2 J5 on slip to J A2 N, A249 J A2 Leave N, Key Street Roundabout, A2 Keycol Hill, A2 High Street, A2 London Road, A2 Hartlip Hill, Lower Hartlip Road, Yelsted Road, Bimbury Lane.

 

Broomfield Road & Park Barn Road, Broomfield, & Burberry Lane, Leeds (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow tree trimming works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Broomfield Road & Park Barn Road, Broomfield, and Burberry Lane, Leeds on or after 7th October 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

Broomfield Road will be closed on 7th October 2025 between the junction with A20 Ashford Road and Lower Street, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A20 Ashford Road, Chegworth Road, Lenham Road, Gravelly Bottom Road, Broomfield Road, Upper Street, Lower Street and vice versa.

Park Barn Road will be closed on 8th October 2025 between the junction with Burberry Lane and the junction with Broomfield Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Burberry Lane, B2163 Penfold Hill, A20 Ashford Road, Broomfield Road, Lower Street, Upper Street and vice versa.

Burberry Lane will be closed from 9th October 2025 to 10th October 2025 between the junction of B2163 Lower Street and the junction with George Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via George Lane, B2163 Lower Street and vice versa.

 

Buckland Road, Maidstone (PROHIBITION OF PARKING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow a school event to be held, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit parking on part of Buckland Road, Maidstone, on or after 9th October 2025 for up to 2 days.

Buckland Road will have restricted parking between Buckland Hill and the school gates.

Restrictions will be in place:

9th October 2025 between 16:00 and 22:00 only.

13th November 2025 between 16:00 and 22:00 only.

 

Caring Lane, Leeds & Caring Lane, Bearsted ME17 1TJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Caring Lane, Leeds & Caring Lane, Bearsted, on or after 8th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from in the vicinity of Woodlarks Cottage to the junction with A20 Ashford Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Caring Lane, A20 Ashford Road, Otham Lane, Caring Road, Caring Lane and vice versa.

 

Church Hill, Stockbury ME9 7QH  (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow ducting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Hill, Stockbury, on or after 22nd September 2025 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of A249 Sittingbourne Road to the junction with Church Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Church Lane, Hill Green Road, South Street Road, Bimbury Lane, A249 Sittingbourne Road and Church Hill.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via A249 Sittingbourne Road, Stockbury Roundabout, A249 Maidstone Road, A249 Detling Hill, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Newnham Court Roundabout M20, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Detling Hill, A249 Sittingbourne Road, Aerodrome Approach, Bimbury Lane, South Street Road, Hill Green Road and Church Lane.  

 

Church Lane, Bicknor ME9 8BJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow water meter works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Lane, Bicknor, on or after 12th October 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Walnut Tree Farm. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Lane, Hazel Street, Admiral Road, Church Lane and vice versa.

 

Church Road, Harrietsham (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow railway bridge repairs to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Church Road, Harrietsham, on or after 22nd September 2025 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the railway bridge. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Road, Marley Road, Dickley Lane, A20 Ashford Road and vice versa.

 

Fisher Street, Maidstone ME14 2SU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow new water service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Fisher Street, Maidstone, on or after 8th October 2025 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 26. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Fisher Street, Randall Street, Scott Street, Perryfield Street and vice versa.

 

Haste Hill Road, Boughton Monchelsea, ME17 4LN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow telegraph pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Haste Hill Road, Boughton Monchelsea, on or after 22nd September 2025 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 53. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Haste Hill Road, The Green, Church Street, B2163 Heath Road, Hubbards Lane and vice versa.

 

Hill Green Road, Stockbury ME9 7UH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow fibre installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hill Green Road, Stockbury, on or after 9th October 2025 for up to 17 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Old Vicarage. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hill Green Road, Yelsted Road, Lower Hartlip Road, Cowstead Road, Bull Lane, Hill Green Road and vice versa.

 

North Street, Barming ME16 9FL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of North Street, Barming, on or after 10th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Redstart Public House, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via North Street, Heath Road, B2246 Fountain Lane, A26 Tonbridge Road, North Street and vice versa.

 

Station Hill & Farleigh Bridge, East Farleigh ME15 0JG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow vegetation clearance and bridge inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of Station Hill and Farleigh Bridge, East Farleigh, on or after 6th October 2025 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of East Farleigh Bridge, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Station Hill, B2010 Lower Road, B2010 Dean Street, B2010 Farleigh Hill, B2010 Tovil Hill, B2010 Tovil Road, B2010 College Road, A229 College Road, A229 Mill Street, A229 Bishops Way, A20 The Broadway, A20 Tonbridge Road, A26 Tonbridge Road, Farleigh Lane and Farleigh Bridge.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Farleigh Bridge, Farleigh Lane, A26 Tonbridge Road, A20 Terrace Road, A20 London Road, A20 The Broadway, A229 The Broadway, A229 St Peters Bridge, A229 Fairmeadow, A229 Bishops Way, A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street, A229 Upper Stone Street, A229 Sheals Crescent, A229 Hayle Road, B2010 College Road, B2010 Tovil Road, B2010 Tovil Hill, B2010 Farleigh Hill, B2010 Dean Street, B2010 Lower Road and Station Hill.

Park Avenue, Maidstone, ME14 5AX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Park Avenue, Maidstone, on or after 22nd September 2025 for up to 26 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Hatherall Road to the junction with Tudor Avenue. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Park Avenue, Wheeler Street, Holland Road, A249 Sittingbourne Road, Tudor Avenue and vice versa.

 

South Street, Barming ME16 9HA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2025

To allow new gas service works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of South Street, Barming, on or after 6th October 2025 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of property number 38. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.
