Sedbergh, Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Due To Utility Works

What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (A684 SEDBERGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the A684, Sedbergh, from a point approx. 1 km east of its junction with the U5483, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 130 metres.

A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the A684, Turfy Hill, B6255, New Road, A65, A683, Station Road, Main Street, Finkle Street and Long Lane.

The Order will come into operation on 27th September 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 2 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
