Eastgate, North Newbald - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic to Enable the Proposed Culvert Works

What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025 EASTGATE, NORTH NEWBALD (PART) 

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed along Eastgate, North Newbald (between Beck Farm, 22 Eastgate and Bridge Haven, 14 Eastgate). 

The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed culvert works, to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. 

It is anticipated that the works will be completed by 31 October 2025. 

The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via Eastgate, Townend Road, Burgate, The Green and Ratten Row, North Newbald. Access will be maintained for pedestrians, residents and emergency services only. 

The Order will commence Monday 22 September 2025 and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
