West Street - Temporary Road Closure To Pole Replacement

What is happening?

Temporary Closure of West Street

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along West Street - from the junction with Crockers Hill, south-westwards for a total distance of 282 metres.

This Order will enable Connect It Utility Services to carry out pole replacement on behalf of SSEN.

The Order becomes effective on 25th September 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months.

The works are expected to commence on 30th September 2025 and last until 2nd October 2025 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 3 days.

Statement of Reasons for making the Order
