Whitelow Road, Chorlton Ward - Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic For Frame And Cover Replacement

What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
 TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC145441247: The City of Manchester (Whitelow Road, Chorlton Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Whitelow Road, from it’s junction with Beech Road to it’s junction with Chorlton Green. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Beech Road, Neale Road, Crossland Road, Chorlton Green. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate frame and cover replacement. It is expected that the works will be in progress on the 24th September 2025. The order shall come into operation on 24th September 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated: 13th September 2025. 

ORDER NO. MCC000145442631: The City of Manchester (Wilmslow Road, Withington Ward)(Temporary Closure of Cycle Lane) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit any pedal cycle (and any pedestrian) from proceeding at any time in the following length of cycle lane: Wilmslow Road, from a point 60 metres South of it’s junction with Derby Road in a Southerly direction for 30 metres. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a pedestrian footway around excavation. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 27th September 2025 to 28th September 2025. The order shall come into operation on 27th September 2025and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
