What is happening?

SOMERSET COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 THE SOMERSET COUNCIL (SOMERSET WEST AND TAUNTON) (OFF STREET PARKING PLACES]

AMENDMENT ORDER 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that Somerset Council proposes to make the above Order under sections 32 and 35 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which would be to amend the Somerset West and Taunton Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2020 (as amended) to:

(i) alter the days when parking charges apply in certain car parks, as detailed in the Schedule to this Notice; and

(ii) make other minor amendments to the Order so it aligns better with the current operation of the car parks. A copy of the draft Order and the Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected online at www.somerset.gov.uk/TRO or https^/somersetcouncil.dtjzenspace.com/pai1dng/copy-of<»nsultation. Any person wishing to make representations or to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their representations or objection and state the grounds on which it is made to Somerset Council, Parking Consultation, B2 West, County Hall, Taunton TA1 4DY or via email to parkingconsultation@somerset.gov.uk quoting Reference No. KT03092025 and received no later than 19th October 2025. Submissions can also be made online at https://somersetcouncil.citizenspace.com /parking/copy-of-consultation and more details of the proposals can be viewed there as well.

The names and addresses of anyone writing in may be made available for public inspection and will be included in a report that may be published on the Somerset Council website, unless the individuals concerned state, in writing, their objection to their names and addresses being made so available or being included in the publication.
