Fir Lane - Temporary Road Closure To Renovation Works

What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Fir Lane

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Fir Lane - from the junction with Tynings Lane, south-westwards for a total distance of 218 metres.

This Order will enable Bristol Water to carry out renovation works of water mains.

The Order becomes effective on 25th September 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 29th September 2025 and last until 17th October 2025 for a total of 19 days.

There is no alternative route for this closure. The works promoter will contact residents and businesses directly to discuss access arrangements.

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
