What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
 TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC145332270: The City of Manchester (Various Streets, Deansgate Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic, One-way Traffic, No Waiting/No Loading & Suspension of Bus Gate) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Various Streets in the Deansgate Ward to facilitate the 2025 Conservative Party Conference. The alternative routes for traffic will be signed locally back to the Key Route Network. It is expected that the restrictions will be in progress on various dates between 27th September 2025 and 10th October 2025. 
The order shall come into operation on 27th September 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated: 15th September 2025. 

ORDER NO. MCC000145324126: The City of Manchester (Bridge Street, Deansgate Ward)(Temporary Suspension of Bus Lane) Order 2025under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to suspend the operation of the bus lane on Bridge Street thereby permitting the use of that part of the carriageway by all motor vehicles. The City Council is satisfied that this suspension is necessary in order to facilitate adjacent closures in Salford. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 29th September 2025 to 15th October 2025 between the hours of 21:00 and 06:00 each shift. The order shall come into operation on 29th September 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
