Temporary Closure of Burtle Road
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Burtle Road - from the junction with Shapwick Road, north-westwards for a total distance of 274 metres.
This Order will enable Kiely Bros to carry out pre-surface dressing patching works on behalf of Somerset Highways. Solid diamond symbolization will be used on the diversion route and will not clash with any other Kiely Bros works within the area.
The Order becomes effective on 25th September 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 2nd October 2025 and last until 7th October 2025 between the hours of 07:00 - 19:00 for a total of 6 days.
Visit https://one.network/?tm=144455050 for further information on the alternative route.
For information about the works being carried out contact Kiely Bros on 0121 772 3800 quoting ttro482037E.
Duncan Sharkey, Chief Executive
Dated: 11th September 2025
Statement of Reasons for making the Order
a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
