Main Road, Temporary Road Closure Due To Bridge Inspection Works

What is happening?

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) B6318 GILSLAND MAIN ROAD GILSLAND (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council Intend to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the B6318 Gilsland Main Road Gllsland from its junction with C300 Gilsland to Gap Shield heading in a north easterly direction for a length of 29 metres in the County of Northumberland.

The Order is to be effective from the 8th October 2025 until the 9th October 2025.

It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 8th October 2025 until the 9th October 2025 between the hours of 22:00 until 06:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 9th October.

An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via B6318, C1023, C394, A69, B630, B6318 and vice-versa. Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Centurion Traffic Management for a bridge inspection. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
