THE A19 TRUNK ROAD (PORTRACK) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A19 Trunk Road, in Stockton-on-Tees, to enable bridge works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Monday 15 September 2025 for 2 weeks, or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be, for 24 hours a day, to impose a temporary 30mph speed limit on the A19:
(i) circulatory carriageway at Portrack Roundabout, a distance of 365 metres;
(ii) northbound carriageway from 150 metres north of Pennine Avenue to Portrack Roundabout, a distance of 45 metres;
(iii) northbound carriageway from 150 metres north of Aintree Road to Portrack Roundabout, a distance of 100 metres.
It will also be necessary, between 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday and 24 hours a day, starting at 8pm on Friday and ending at 6am on Monday to close the A19 carriageway from the northbound entry to the southbound exit slip road at Portrack Roundabout, a distance of 34 metres. During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times.
Traffic management will be in operation for 24 hours a day and traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance).
The Order comes into force on 14 September 2025 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.

THE A1(M) MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 60 TO JUNCTION 65) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A1(M) Motorway, in County Durham, to enable vehicle restraint system renewal works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start at 8pm on Monday 15 September 2025 for 28 weeks, or until completed.
The effect of the Order will now be, for 24 hours a day, at times, during the works, to impose a temporary 60mph, 50mph or 40mph speed restriction on the A1(M):
(i) northbound carriageway from 1200 metres south of the exit slip road at Junction 60 (Bradbury Interchange) to the entry slip road at Junction 63 (Blind Lane Interchange), a distance of 28,212 metres;
(ii) southbound carriageway from 1000 metres north of the entry slip road at Junction 64 (Washington/Vigo Interchange) to the entry slip road at Junction 60, a distance of 28,789 metres;
(iii) northbound exit and southbound entry slip roads at Junction 60;
(iv) northbound exit and southbound exit slip roads at Junction 60;
(v) northbound and southbound exit and entry slip roads at Junction 61 (Bowburn Interchange) and Junction 62 (Carrville Interchange);
(vi) northbound exit and southbound entry slip roads at Junction 63; and
(vii) northbound entry and southbound slip exit roads at Junction 63.
It will be necessary to close, between 8pm and 6am, at times, during the works, the A1(M):
(viii) northbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Junction 60 to the entry slip road at Junction 63, a distance of 27,036 metres;
(ix) southbound carriageway from the north tie slip road at Junction 63 to the entry slip road at Junction 60, a distance of 27,036 metres; and
(x) slip roads as described above in (iv), (v) and (vi).
At times during the works, it will be necessary, during lane closures and when instructed by a sign, to ban vehicles with an overall width exceeding 6’6” and an overall weight exceeding 7.5 tonnes on the A1(M):
(xi) northbound carriageway from 2600 metres south of the exit slip road at Junction 61 to 1500 metres north of the entry slip road at Junction 62, a distance of 12,358 metres; and
(xii) southbound carriageway from 1500 metres north of the exit slip road at Junction 61 to 2600 metres south of the entry slip road at Junction 61, a distance of 12,210 metre.
During the closures, suitably signed alternative routes will be available.
