What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary One Way Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC145595427: The City of Manchester (Houldsworth Street & Little Lever Street, Piccadilly Ward) (Temporary One Way Vehicular Traffic & Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to make Houldsworth Street One-way from Little Lever Street to Lever Street and close Little Lever Street from Houldsworth Street to Great Ancoats Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be signed locally to Lever Street and Newton Street. The City Council is satisfied that this restriction is necessary in order adjacent development works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 22nd September 2025 to 19th March 2027. The Order shall come into operation on 22nd September 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months.
