Whitworth Street East, Clayton & Openshaw Ward - Temporary Suspension Of One-Way Traffic Utility Work
What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order:
ORDER NO. MCC145555670: The City of Manchester (Whitworth Street East, Clayton & Openshaw Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) (Temporary Suspension of One-Way Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Whitworth Street East from Widnes Street to Lawton Street. The effect of the Order is to suspend the One-Way traffic restriction on Whitworth Street East from Widnes Street to Lawton Street,The alternative routes for traffic will be: Whitworth Street East, Ashton Old Road, Lees Street, Ogden Lane, Lawton Street.. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate utility works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 22nd September 2025 to 3rd October 2025. The order shall come into operation on 22nd September 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
