ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF NEWHAM

BUS STAND AND LANE CLOSURE – TRANSPORT FOR LONDON – SILVERTOWN WAY, E16

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER, 2025

1. The NEWHAM LONDON BOROUGH COUNCIL, hereby gives notice that it intends to make an Order – BUS STAND AND LANE CLOSURE – TRANSPORT FOR LONDON, SILVERTOWN WAY, E16 (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic), Order 2025, the general effect of which will be to suspend the bus lane for a temporary bus stand for works at Canning Town Bus Station.

2. The Order will be made to allow Tarmac/Kier Joint Venture and its contractors working on behalf of Transport for London to carry out essential at Canning Town Bus Station or on near the highway. No person shall enter or cause to enter the various roads as per schedule 1, at such times as appropriate traffic signs are displayed in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016(c).

3. The prohibition applies from Monday 15th September 2025 until Wednesday 03rd March 2027 or on completion of the works, whichever is the sooner.

4. Vehicular and pedestrian access will be prohibited when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016(c).

5. Parking prohibitions will apply, only when appropriate signs are displayed.

6. Nothing in this Order shall apply to vehicles being used for Fire, Ambulance or Police purposes, or with the permission or at the direction of a Police Constable in uniform, or a suitably authorised officer. Nothing in paragraph 2 of the Order shall apply to vehicles necessarily used in connection with the works.
