What is happening?

 EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

The Order commences 29 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 29 September and 1 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C211 East Street, Mayfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

East Street – from the junction with C211 Scotsford Hill to the junction with C14 Coggins Mill Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C14 Fletching Street, High Street, Station Road, Stone Cross – A267 Wellbrook, Wellbrook Hill, Mayfield Road, Heathfield Road, Cross in Hand Road – A265 High Street, Mutton Hall Hill, Burwash Road – C406 Scotsford Road, Street End Lane, Scotsford Hill and vice versa.

The Order commences 30 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 30 September and 1 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C11 Hastingford Lane,

Hadlow Down) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025 No.2

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C11 Hadlow Down Road, Walshes Road, Fermor Road – C254 Hurtis Hill, Sheep Plain – A26 Beacon Road, Uckfield Road – C402 Chillies Lane, Hurstwood Road – A272 Station Road, High Street, Pound Green, The Toll, Curtains Hill, Main Road – C11 School Lane – C270 Five Chimneys Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 1 October 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 1 and 2 October 2025 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C208 Horebeech Lane/C406

Laundry Lane & C208 Marle Green, Horam)

(30mph and 40mph Speed Limit) Order 202*

NOTICE is hereby given that East Sussex County Council propose to make an Order under Sections 84 (1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, which would amend the speed limits in the following lengths of road; SCHEDULE ONE – 30mph Speed Limit

C208 Horebeech from its junction with the A267 Little

Lane, Horam    London Road, south-eastwards to a point 6 metres north-west of its junction with Laundry Lane.

SCHEDULE TWO – 40 mph Speed Limit C406 Laundry from its junction with C208

Lane, Horam   Horebeech Lane, north-eastwards for a distance of 270 metres.

C208 Marle   from a point 6 metres north-west of

Green, Horam its junction with C406 Laundry Lane, south-eastwards for a distance of 737 metres.
