AND CRANFORD TERRACE, SUNDERLAND)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Sunderland City Council gives notice that it intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit all vehicles along Saint Gabriel’s Avenue from its junction with Chester Road to the extended south-eastern property boundary of 2 Saint Gabriel’s Avenue and Cranford Terrace for its entire extent. The Order is required to facilitate gas main repair works on or near the road. The Order will come into operation on 29th October 2025. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be 18 months, however it is estimated the closure will only be for approximately 4 weeks from the commencement of the works. All vehicles will be prohibited from the above roads (except vehicles involved in the works) until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. Vehicular access for affected residents will be maintained throughout the closure where possible. Alternative routes will be provided via the adjacent highway network.
