PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY DIVERSION ORDER
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990, SECTION 257
WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981, SECTION 53A(2)
THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF DURHAM
(PUBLIC BRIDLEWAY NO.15 HAWTHORN PARISH)
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2025
The above order was made on 8 September 2025. The effect of the order will be to Divert Public Bridleway No. 15 Hawthorn Parish from a point east of East Farm, Cold Hesledon proceeding in a generally east-north-easterly direction through a housing development site to a point south-west of Hesledon East House Farm (to be retained as an adopted pedestrian and cycle path) to a line proceeding from the same point east of East Farm in a generally south-south-easterly, then easterly then north-easterly then north-north-westerly direction around the boundary of the new housing development to the same point south-west of Hesledon East House Farm as shown on the order map.
A copy of the order and the order map may be seen free of charge at Seaham library during normal opening hours and via the Council website,
Any representation about or objection to the Order may be sent or delivered in writing addressed to Sharon Renwick, Legal and Democratic Services, PO Box 717, Durham, DH1 9RB or via e-mail to
quoting 11841741 no later than 10 October 2025. Please state the grounds on which it is made.
If no such representations or objections to the Order are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, The County Council of Durham may itself confirm the Order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
