Shropshire - Various Temporary Road Traffic Restrictions
What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER/S –
PUBLIC NOTICES OF MAKING
NOTICE is hereby given that Shropshire Council (“The Council”) have made an Order/s under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 (as amended), the effect of which is to restrict
the use of roads as stated below. The Order/s for regulation is/are required for the purpose/s as stated below. There are exemptions in the Order/s to permit pedestrian access (and/or vehicular access at the discretion of the Council or Statutory Undertaker) to any land or premises having a frontage to the said highway affected where there is no other form of access, and to any access allowing the
necessary works to be undertaken. Access will be maintained for cyclists, pedestrians and dismounted horse riders unless stated below. The alternative route/s for those affected by the proposal/s is/are as stated below.
The Order/s came into force on 15 th September 2025 and will remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months (unless extended upon the direction of the Secretary of State) or until any said works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is expected that the Order/s will only be operative for the duration as stated below.
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from parking, waiting and loading in 4 spaces opposite the Parade, St Marys Place, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 19th September 2025 for 11 days
Purpose: Parking bay suspensions for set up/breakdown and deliveries for the CAMRA beer festival.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from travelling in excess of 30mph on the A528 between Ellesmere Road Roundabout And Broad Oak
Date & Duration: 17th September 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Temporary Speed Limit - Severn Trent Water, Temporary speed limit required from 60mph to 30mph on Broad Oak as directed by site signage
Alternative Route : Not applicable
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Hawthorn Road, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 15th September 2025 for 26 days
Purpose: Road Closure - National Grid, cable reinforcement scheme.
Alternative Route : Belle Vue Road, Havelock Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using High Street, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 20th September 2025 for between 10:00 to 16:00 and 21st September 2025 between 10:00 to 18:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, new water connection.
Alternative Route : Beeches Lane, Town Walls, Murivance, St Chads Terrace, Lower Claremont Bank
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Mickley Lane, Mickley
Date & Duration: 18th September 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Overhead cabling works, hoist required.
Alternative Route : Unnamed road West, Wood Lane, Unnamed road North, Lostford Lane, Mickley Lane
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Middleton Road, Oswestry
Date & Duration: 15th September 2025 for 19 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Lay new plastic mains 92m.
Alternative Route : Middleton Road, Unnamed road South East towards Aston Square, Unnamed road South, A5, B4579, College Road, Hazel Grove, Llys Road, Wilfred Owen Road, Middleton Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using New Park Road, Shrewsbury
Date & Duration: 21st September 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - Severn Trent Water, defective manhole frame and cover to be replaced.
Alternative Route : New Park Road, St Michaels Street, Spring Gardens, Sultan Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using North Drive, Park Hall
Date & Duration: 17th September 2025 for 1 day between 08:00 to 18:00
Purpose: Road Closure - Wire transfer
Alternative Route : Twmpath Lane, A5, A495, Burma Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Pound Street, Claverley
Date & Duration: 18th September 2025 for 1 day between 09:30 to 15:30
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-MJ Quinn are to replace 1 decayed wooden BT pole
Alternative Route : High Street, Heathton, Unnamed road South West, Unnamed road West, Unnamed road North East
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Oldfield Lane, Bridgnorth
Date & Duration: 15th September 2025 for 3 days between 09:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Road Closure to enable drainage works

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Church Street, Prees
Date & Duration: 15th September 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Drainage pipe repair

Date & Duration: 15th September 2025 for 4 days between 09:00 to 16:00
Purpose: Remove 4 large Ash trees

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road Aylesford Bridge Junction B4386 To Powys County Boundary

Purpose: Multevo carriageway repairs

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from turning right from Cross Street, Shrewsbury into Castle Foregate and the One Way order on Chester Street will be rescinded to allow two way traffic
Date & Duration: 15th September 2025 for 47 days
Purpose: The one way order on Chester Street is to be rescinded. 24 hours a day Chester Street will facilitate two way traffic. There is a restriction for No Right Turn from Cross Street into Castle Foregate

Date & Duration: 16th September 2025 from 23:00 to 06:00 17th September 2025
Purpose: Road Closure-Network Rail-Detailed Examination of Underbridge using ladders & Road Mounted MEWP
Alternative Route : Steventon Road, Caynham Road, Sheet Road, Steventon New Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Beobridge and Lower Beobridge
Date & Duration: 18th September 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure-Openreach-MJ Quinn are to replace 1 x decayed wooden BT pole
Alternative Route : Unnamed road South, Unnamed road East and North East, Unnamed road West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road Between Condover and Dorrington
Date & Duration: 21st September 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Road Closure - BT, road closure required for the safety of engineers for pole testing works and tree cutting works.
Alternative Route : Station Road, A49, Unnamed road South towards Condover, Unnamed road South West
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed Road between Haughton Lane and A464 roundabout
Date & Duration: 15th September 2025 for 54 days
Purpose: Road Closure-National Grid-1597m trenching in tarmac road and grass verge for new supply

Purpose: Road Closure-Severn Trent Water-Site investigation including full width trial holes to determine ground conditions and asset location for mains renewal scheme.

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Wood Road, Hadnall
Date & Duration: 18th September 2025 for 2 days
Purpose: Road Closure - Trial holes to locate existing utilities and determine
ground conditions for upcoming water mains scheme.
Alternative Route : A49, Ladymas Road, Unnamed road North West, Unnamed road West, Plex Road
Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from travelling in excess of 10mph on the B4364 between Burwarton and Cleedownton at Wheathill
Date & Duration: 15th September 2025 for 1 day
Purpose: Temporary speed restriction Speed Reduction from 60mph to 40mph to 10mph as directed by signage

Description of restriction: Traffic will be prohibited from using Unnamed road Brockton towards Hampton Beech
Date & Duration: 15th September 2025 for 21 days
Purpose: Road Closure to ensure works can be completed by the water course,
