BYELAWS 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in exercise of its powers under Section 12 of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003, the Scottish Borders Council intends to seek confirmation of byelaws for the restriction of access rights over land at Huntlaw and Muirfield Farm.

The Order will be submitted to the Scottish Ministers for confirmation and comes into operation only if confirmed.

A copy of the byelaws and associated maps have been deposited at the Council’s Contact Centre, 34/44 High Street, Hawick and may be seen there without payment of fee between the hours of 10:00 am and 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm and 3:00 p.m.

Monday to Friday. A copy is also available to view at Council Headquarters, Newtown St Boswells and may be seen between the hours of 8:45am and 5:00pm Monday to Thursday. A copy of the byelaws and associated maps have also been published on the Council website – www.scotborders.gov.uk/centerparcs Any objections to the byelaws must be made in writing stating the title of the byelaws and the grounds of objection and addressed to The Scottish Ministers, Energy and Climate Change Directorate, St Andrew’s House, Regent Road, Edinburgh, EH1 3DG by 5 December 2025.

(C83 NORTH OF BURNFOOT FARM, OXTON)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (C83 North of Burnfoot Farm, Oxton) (Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of  18 months, will come into force on 18 September 2025 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of one day between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00. The Order is required for BT works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along C83 North of Burnfoot Farm, Oxton.

The alternative route for northbound traffic is via the C83, A68, C84, Station Road and C83 to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing. A map showing the restriction and alternative routes can be seen at www.tellmescotland.gov.uk.

(HOEBRIDGE ROAD EAST, GATTONSIDE)
(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (Hoebridge Road East, Gattonside) (Temporary Closing) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of  18 months, will come into force on 15 September 2025 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of one day between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00. The Order is required for Scottish Water works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Hoebridge Road East, Gattonside, at Stables Cottage.

The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Hoebridge Road East,  Bakers Road, B6360 Main Street, Hoebridge Road East to the point of closure,  for Southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

(MAGDALA TERRACE AND HALLIBURTON TERRACE GALASHIELS)
(TEMPORARY NO WAITING) ORDER 2025

The Scottish Borders Council (Magdala Terrace and Halliburton Terrace Galashiels) (Temporary No Waiting) Order 2025 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into on 15 September 2025 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of one day between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30. The Order is required for BT works.

When the Order comes into effect, no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked on the A7 Magdala Terrace and the DG46/2 Halliburton Terrace, Galashiels.
