What is happening?

NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2025 Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984

Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:

i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

BACTON - C636 North Walsham Road from 135m southwest of its junction with B1159 Coast Road for 50m south-westwards to facilitate water pipe repair works from 16th to 18th September 2025 (may continue until 30th October 2025).

Alternative route is via: C636 North Walsham Road, B1159 Walcott Road, C414 Mill Common Road/Stonebridge Road/Hoolehouse Road, C417 Old Hall Road, C636 Bacton Road/Pollard Street (Witton, Honing, Bacton).

Traffic over the said Roads 1-3 shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload from 15th to 26th September 2025 (may continue until 7th November 2025).

FAKENHAM - U14049 Long Lane from its junction with A148 Fakenham Bypass for 205m north-westwards to facilitate plane and inlay surfacing works between 07:00 and 18:00 from 15th to 16th September 2025 (may continue until 28th October 2025).

Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by vehicles of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT). Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
