What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
(ROPERGATE, PONTEFRACT)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER(NO 272) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for new water supply connection to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Ropergate, Pontefract outside 12 Ropergate.
The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Ropergate.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: A645 Southgate, A639 Jubilee Way, A639, Stuart Road, A639.
Warning Signs to be placed in opposite direction on Southgate. Car parking services are aware of works and advised parking on Valley Road is available.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 08.00 hours on 14th September 2025 to 06.00 hours on 15th September 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(BEANCROFT ROAD, CASTLEFORD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC & TEMPORARY LEFT TURN BAN) ORDER (NO 276) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to allow for renewal of cover and frame to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Beancroft Road, Castleford as below:
Left turn ban – no left turn onto Middle Oxford Street.
DIVERSION: Beancroft Road, Temple Street, Nicholson Street, High Oxford Street, Middle Oxford Street, Lower Oxford Street, University Street, Cambridge Street, Beancroft Road.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 18th September 2025 at 08.00 hours to 19th September 2025 at 18.00 hours, or until completion of the work, whichever is soonest.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(THORPE LANE, UPTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 291) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to replace manhole frame & cover to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Thorpe Lane, Upton for approximately 50 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Thorpe Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Thorpe Lane, Pontefract Road, Wrangbrook Lane, Hemsworth A1 Link Road, Back Lane, New Lane, High Street, Field Lane, Beaconfield Road, Thorpe Lane & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 29th September 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(FERRYBRIDGE ROAD, KNOTTINGLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 295) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to replace manhole frame & cover to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Ferrybridge Road, Knottingley for approximately 50 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Ferrybridge Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Ferrybridge Road, Pontefract Road, Old Great North Road, Fishergate, Pontefract Road, Knottingley Road, Bondgate, South Baileygate, Tanners Row, North Baileygate, Mill Dam Lane & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 1st October 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
