What is happening?

(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND
PERMITTED PARKING) (VARIATION NO.*) ORDER 20**
NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers in support of the wider ‘Access to Banbury Train Station’ project (i.e. Tramway Road improvements). Specifically, the proposal comprises the following measure:
Introduction of short-stay/drop-off parking bay (approx. 18 metres in length) with accompanying ‘30-minute parking, on all days, No return within 1 hour’ restriction, to be located on the southeast side of Tramway Road approx.
22 metres north of its junction with Riverside.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Various Roads – Cherwell)
(Map Based) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Permitted Parking) Order 2021 will be further amended, updating Map Tile: ‘AS55’ in the process.

Objections to the proposals and other representations specifying the grounds on which they are made may be sent in writing to the address below by the end of 10 October 2025. The Council will consider objections and representations received in response to this Notice. They may be disseminated widely for these purposes and made available to the public.

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Nethercote, Blacklocks Hill
Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 22 September 2025
Coming into force: 29 September 2025
This Order is being introduced because of fibre cabling work which is anticipated to take until 24 October 2025 to complete.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the length of Blacklocks Hill (Banbury Lane) from outside Nethercote to outside Meadow House.
Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section
of road. The alternative route for traffic is via the A422, unnamed Road, Overthorpe Road and vice versa.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16202/RMF)

Duns Tew, Hill Farm Lane
Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 8 September 2025
Coming into force: 15 September 2025
This Order is being introduced because of fibre cabling works which are anticipated to take until 26/9/2025 to complete.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the length of Hill Farm Lane from Alberta House to The Lodge. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. There is no alternative route for traffic due to this being a dead end.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16177/RMF)

Shutford, The Plain Road
Prohibition of Through Traffic
Date of Order: 8 September 2025
Coming into force: 15 September 2025
This Order is being introduced because of installation of upgraded electricity supply works which are anticipated to take until 26 September 2025 to complete.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the length of The Plain Road south of Shutford Road. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic will be signed locally.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T16146/RMF)
