Bournemouth Park Road, Temporary Road Closure Due To Roadworks & Maintenance

What is happening?

SOUTHEND-ON-SEA CITY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC, PARKING, STOPPING, WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING (TT02S-26-24) ORDER 2025 (BOURNEMOUTH PARK ROAD)

Notice is hereby given that Southend-on-Sea City Council has proposed to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from traffic, stopping, waiting, loading, unloading and parking on Bournemouth Park Road from outside No.4 to its junction with Southchurch Road (A13).

The closure is scheduled to commence in from 15 September 2025 to 17 September 2025 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.

The alternative routes will be via:

a) Southchurch Road to Porters grange roundabout back onto Southchurch Road.

b) Southchurch Road, Hamstel Road, North Avenue, Bournemouth Park Road.

c) Bournemouth Park Road, Boscombe Road, Christchurch Road, Southchurch Road.

The Order will come into effect on 15 September 2025 until 17 September 2025; however this Order may continue in force for a maximum of 18 months to allow for remedial work or delays.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce whilst planned roadworks and maintenance on the carriageway or footway takes place.

Access for emergency vehicles, residents and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.

The prohibitions or restrictions will apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction/prohibition imposed by this Notice may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice and removed under the provisions of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
