(City Wide) Order 2025 – (Amendment No.28) Order 2025 & (Various Traffic Movements) (City Wide Order) 2025 – (Amendment No.10) Order 2025
Leeds City Council has today made the above-named Orders under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 32, 35, 45, 46, 122 & 124 (and part IV of Schedule 9) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and the Traffic Management Act 2004
as amended and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police. The effect of this Amendment Order, which comes into effect on 22 September 2025 is to introduce: 1. No Left Turn from Great George St on to Oxford Row. 2. A Mandatory Right Turn from Cookridge St
on to Great George St. 3. An Ahead Only (Except for Pedal Cycles) Restriction from Calverley St (south of Great George St) on to Calverley St (north of Great George St). 4. One Way Traffic Flow on a. Great George St (East to West); from Oxford Pl in a westerly direction to Park St; b. High Court La (South to
North) for its entire length (except for Cycles); c. Park St (North) to (South); from its junction with Great George Street in a southerly direction for 54m. d. Wharf St (North to South) for its entire length (except for Cycles) 5. No Loading or Unloading from 7.00am to 10.00am and from 4.00pm to
7.00pm on sections of Great George St (both sides); 6. No Loading or Unloading at any Time on sections of Call La (both sides); Cookridge St (both sides); Crown St (west side); High Court (both sides); Merrion St (north side); The Calls (both sides); Wade La (west side) & Wharf St (both sides 7. No Waiting at Any Time on sections of: Call La (both sides); Cookridge St (both sides); Crown St (west side); Great George St (both sides); Merrion St (north side); Thoresby Pl (west side); Wade La (west side) & Wharf St (both sides). 8. No Waiting at Any Time except for Hackney Carriages on sections of Call La (north-west side); Merrion St (north side) & Thoresby Place (west side). 9. No Waiting except for Hackney Carriages from 7.00pm to 7.00am (all days) on sections of Call La (north-west side) & Great George St (north side). 10. Parking Places for Loading and Unloading Goods on a. a section of
Great George St (south side) (all days & hours for a maximum of 20 mins) b. sections of Great George St (both sides) (all days & hours for 40 minutes – No return within 1 hour).
c. a section of Call La (north-west side); Great George St (south side) and Swinegate (south-east side) (all days from 7.00am to 7.00pm for 40 minutes – No return within 1 hour).
11. A Parking Place for Car Club Vehicles (all days & hours) on a section of Great George St (north side). 12. A Parking Place for the purpose of Coach Pick Up and Set Down (all days & all hours for a maximum of 20 mins) on a section of Great George St (north side). 13. Pay & Display Parking (Monday to
Saturday 8.00am - 10.00pm & Sunday 10.00am - 10.00pm) on a reduced section of Thoresby Pl (west side) running from a point 27m north of Great George St, for 13.5m a northerly direction (Central Short Stay Parking Tariff):
The above restrictions were originally advertised under Order numbers W0824 and M0924 respectively and by virtue of the above Amendment Orders have now been incorporated as amendments to ‘The Leeds City Council Various Roads, Metropolitan District of Leeds)(Waiting Restrictions and On Street Parking Places) and Various Traffic Movements) City Wide) Orders 2025 (which comprises map-based schedules and an electronic map-based system. A copy of the Amendment Order, together with related documentation may be obtained by e-mailing troteam@leeds.gov.uk. If you wish to object to question the validity of either Amendment Order or any provision contained within them on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirements of the Act or any instrument made under the Act has not be complied with in relation to the Order, you may within 6 weeks from the date upon which the Order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
