TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2025 (NORWICH)
Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984
Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:
i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:
MARLBOROUGH ROAD – from 76m west of its junction with Spencer Street for 20m westwards to facilitate water supply replacement works from 16th to 18th September 2025 (may continue until 30th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Magdalen Road, Bull Close Road, Spencer Street and vice versa. The works promoter is Anglian Water.
UPTON ROAD – from 1m north of its junction with Newmarket Road for 50m northwards to facilitate gas main upgrade works from 15th to 26th September 2025 (may continue until 7th November 2025). Alternative route is via: Upton Road, Melrose Road, Leopold Road and vice versa. The works promoter is Cadent.
VULCAN ROAD SOUTH AND VULCAN ROAD NORTH –
Vulcan Road South from its junction with Mile Cross Lane to its junction with Concorde Lane and 2) Vulcan Road North from 20m north of its junction with Burton Road for 50m southwards to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works between 19:00 and 23:00 from 15th to 26th September 2025 (may continue until 7th November 2025). Alternative route is via: Vulcan Road North, Fifers Lane, Ives Road, St Faiths Road, Mile Cross Lane. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
NB: Please note that the restriction will take place for one evening (between 19:00 and 23:00) within the anticipated dates period.
ii) THEY HAVE MADE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:
CARROW HILL – from its junction with King Street for 200m westwards to facilitate resurfacing works from 10th to 11th September 2025 (may continue until 23rd October 2025). Alternative route is via: Carrow Hill, King Street, Bracondale. The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.
COTMAN ROAD – from its junction with Ranson Road for 80m south-westwards to facilitate water pipe repair works from 4th to 11th September 2025 (may continue until 24th October 2025). Alternative route is via: Eastbound: Cotman Road, North Park Avenue, Earlham Green Lane; Westbound: Cotman Road, Telegraph Lane East, Thorpe Road, Clarence Road, Thorpe Road. The works promoter is Anglian Water.
GROVE AVENUE – from its junction with Grove Walk to its junction with Ipswich Road to facilitate gas main replacement works from 4th September to 11th October 2025 (may continue until 15th December 2025). Alternative route is via: Ipswich Road, Cecil Road, Grove Road, Grove Avenue and vice versa. The works promoter is Cadent.
WATERWORKS ROAD & HOT BLACK ROAD – 1) Waterworks Road from 10m west of its junction with Hot Black Road for 35m eastwards and 2) Hot Black Road from its junction with Waterworks Road for 15m southwards to facilitate chamber repair works from 19:00 on 8th to 06:00 on 9th September 2025 (may continue until 21st October 2025). Alternative route is via: Waterworks Road, Heigham Street, Old Palace Road, Dereham Road and vice versa. The works promoter is Anglian Water.
Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by vehicles of the named road(s)/footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath.
Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date or where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice.
If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months or 6 months in respect of footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways, restricted byways, and byways open to all traffic (BOAT).
Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
