Norfolk, 40mph Speed Limit Proposal
What is happening?
THE NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
(SHROPHAM AND SNETTERTON, C138 HARGHAM ROAD, U33048 SPRING LANE AND U33045 NORTH END) (40 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2025
Norfolk County Council propose to make the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to prohibit any motor vehicle from exceeding 40 miles per hour along the lengths of road specified in the Schedule below. The proposal is a reduction to the current 60 mph National Speed Limit and replaces the scheme proposals previously advertised on the 14th March 2025.

Copies are also available for inspection at Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Norwich, NR1 2DH and at the offices of Breckland District Council, Elizabeth House, Walpole Loke, Dereham NR19 1EE during normal office hours. Online viewing is recommended.Any objections and representations relating to the Order must be made in writing and must specify the grounds on which they are made. All correspondence for these proposals must be received at the office of nplaw, Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, NR1 2DH, marked for the attention of the nplaw Traffic Regulation Order Team by the 30th September 2025.
